The GERSHON Review
In April 2008 Minister for Finance and Deregulation, Lindsay Tanner, engaged Sir Peter Gershon to lead an independent review of the Australian Government’s use and management of information and communication technology (ICT).
The context of the review was to identify ways in which the Australian Government could strengthen the whole-of-government management of ICT. The aims of the review were to:
drive greater efficiency through the delivery better services;
maximise the benefits from ICT and;
Examine the way in which agencies manage their ICT investments, including maintenance, development and staffing.
After an extensive review of Accredited Consultancy Organisations (ACOs) who are authorised to undertake P3M3TM assessments, the Federal Court decided to award the assessment to Wired Consulting with independent verification by APMG Australia.
The assessments covered all 3 models and in total 12 structured interviews were completed from CEO and members of the investment committee through to project managers and change managers.
